Delivery
-
We choose every object at Waters and the Wild ourselves. Most are unique, many are centuries old, and almost all are irreplaceable.
We do not operate a warehouse model. Every order is carefully checked, packed, photographed again and and dispatched individually to ensure it arrives exactly as described.
-
We try and dispatch all orders within 1-3 days Monday - Saturday.
During launches, exhibitions, holidays or exceptionally busy periods dispatch may take slightly longer.
We will stay in touch to make sure you always know where your piece is and when you will receive it.
Working days are Monday–Saturday excluding English public holidays.
Dispatch times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
-
We select the most appropriate carrier for each order.
This may include:
Royal Mail
DHL
UPS
FedEx
Parcelforce
Specialist art and antique couriers
We reserve the right to choose the delivery service regardless of the option displayed at checkout where necessary for insurance or the safe transport of an item.

UK Delivery Charges
Every object in our collection is carefully prepared for its journey, with packaging chosen according to its size, fragility and particular requirements.
Our UK delivery charges are as follows:
Standard Delivery £7.95 per item
Fragile or Large Objects £15.95 per item
Oversized Objects £24.95 per item
Complimentary Delivery Free for selected objects
The appropriate delivery service is assigned to each object according to its individual requirements. Shipping charges are calculated automatically and displayed at checkout before payment.
Where an order contains several objects, delivery charges may be combined according to the shipping requirements of each piece.
We take particular care with fragile antiques, rare books and natural history specimens to ensure that they are appropriately protected in transit.
Take Note
-
Orders of significant value will normally require:
tracked delivery
signature on receipt
age verification where legally required
Authority to leave parcels in a safe place is given entirely at the customer's own risk.
-
Where appropriate, parcels are insured during transit.
Insurance arrangements vary depending upon the carrier, destination and value of the item.
-
Delivery estimates are provided for guidance only.
We cannot guarantee delivery dates once an item has entered the courier network.
Delays caused by customs, weather, industrial action, security checks or courier disruption are outside our reasonable control.
-
Please inspect your parcel as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If the outer packaging appears significantly damaged, we recommend:
photographing the parcel before opening
retaining all packaging
notifying us promptly
This assists any insurance or courier investigation.
-
Many of our objects are decades or centuries old.
Minor evidence of age, use, restoration, historical repairs or natural wear forms part of their character and is not considered damage unless specifically stated otherwise.
Every effort is made to photograph and describe each item accurately.
-
If your parcel has not arrived within the expected timeframe, please contact us.
We may ask you to:
confirm your delivery address
check with neighbours
check any nominated safe place
complete a courier declaration
provide photographs where appropriate
Courier investigations may take several weeks.
We cannot issue replacements for unique items.
Where an item is genuinely lost in transit we will either:
provide a full refund; or
offer an alternative remedy where appropriate.
-
If an order is returned because:
an incorrect address was supplied;
delivery attempts were unsuccessful;
the parcel was refused without legal justification; or
the parcel was not collected, we may deduct:
return shipping costs;
additional delivery charges; and
any unrecoverable courier costs
from any refund where permitted by law
-
Title and Risk
Ownership of goods transfers only after:
full payment has cleared; and
the goods have been delivered.
Risk passes in accordance with applicable consumer legislation.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.
-
Right to Refuse Orders
To protect our customers and our collection, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order before dispatch, including where:
payment cannot be verified;
fraudulent activity is suspected;
pricing errors occur;
